THE NAUVOO TEMPLE
We loved all of Nauvoo, but seeing the rebuilt temple topped it all.
When we would come up from the river and see it standing atop the hill for all to see, it would give us the same thrill every time.
We couldn't seem to drive by without stopping to take just a couple more pictures.
It looked different in every lighting.
Loved all the architectural features.
Oh, come on- talk about the perfect set up!
Knowing how we felt driving away, not knowing if we would ever be able to get back this way, I can't imagine how the saints felt as they turned to see it for the last time as they began their journey of faith toward a land of promise and the unknown. All I can know for certain is that they must have had love and gratitude for the blessings they received there in the short time they had it.
